Bahia Rincon
BEYOND WHAT WORDS CAN DESCRIBE! RATED ONE OF WORLD’S BEST BEACHES
REALLY GREAT BEACH/NOT A TENABLE OVERNIGHT ANCHORAGE
19°20.56N 69°10.48W
15.0 nm from Santa Bárbara
Going northwest of Santa Bárbara between Cabo Samana and Cabo Cabrón is Bahia Ricon. The bay is 5 miles deep and averages 3 miles wide and is surrounded by mountains.

You may anchor in the southwest corner of the bay; although it is untenable in anything other than a westerly or southeasterly and the swell from the north may well persist.
The beach at Bahia Rincon is known as one of the 10 best in the Caribbean. On one side there is clear crystal water and on the other side lush thick palms. It is said that the view is reminiscent of heaven. Conde Nast magazine rated Playa Rincon as the second finest beach in the entire world. The main part stretches for 4 kilometers and there is another part separated by a small peninsula which, although smaller, is even prettier and more secluded.

What makes a beach this remarkable. Good sand, thousands of palm trees, azure colored waters and a spectacular setting surrounded by mountains. Also, there are no motels, hotels or condos and the only commercial establishments are several small restaurants serving freshly caught fish, lobsters and local fare.
